Classical Education

Small by Design

As a classical Christian school, we encourage students to pursue a life of Christian virtue by cultivating habits oriented toward the True, the Good, and the Beautiful. Our teaching is grounded in time-honored practices that include Language and Fine Arts, Sciences, and Mathematics in a small class setting.

At St. Peter’s, we choose to keep class sizes small so our teachers can truly know, love, and nurture each student, providing the individual attention needed to instill a great love of learning. Small schools like St. Peter’s on the whole outperform large ones in measures of safety, security, achievement, connectedness, teacher satisfaction and collaboration, and equitable distribution of learning. It is the best of both worlds – classical Christian education in a loving community.

Educating the Whole Person

Great thinkers like Plato and Aristotle believed that education should focus on the development of the whole person. Aristotle said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”

As an Orthodox school, we believe that students can find Truth, Goodness, and Beauty in the person of Jesus Christ. From this foundation, we educate students in Christian virtues toward spiritual growth and wisdom. Spiritual growth will be cultivated through prayers and hymns, daily chapel, and the study of the Scriptures and church history.

Family Focused

Balanced Childhood

As ordained by God, parents are the primary educators of their children. St. Peter’s Classical School partners with parents as they fulfill their role as educators. Our approach to classical Christian education honors and values family time.

We are conscientious about the homework load our young students experience. Because we believe that childhood is best spent in play and outdoors, we incorporate these elements into our school day. And we do our best to keep those evenings free for your child to be a child and to enjoy family time.
