Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Have A Question?

We are in the process of building a helpful FAQ page for both our current and potential families. Some families like to research and find the answers for themselves. Others prefer to just pick up the phone and ask. Both are great with us!

If you don’t see the answer to your question here, we invite you to contact our office at 817-294-0124 or submit your question in the form at the bottom of this page.

At what age can my child begin attending St. Peter Classical School?

Children enrolled in the Preschool Program must turn 4 before September 1st and be toilet trained before attending preschool. To enter Kindergarten, children must be 5 years old by September 1st. For students applying to grades 1 or higher, age will be considered along with the results of placement testing as part of the overall admissions process.

What are the school hours?

PreK* through 1st grade: Monday through Friday 8:30am-2:30pm

How many students are in each of your classes?

We keep our class sizes small to allow every student the best chance to achieve their personal best. Currently, we cap our classes at 12 students per teacher. In the event a grade level is full, students placed on a waiting list may be offered admission if room becomes available or an additional section of the grade is opened.

What is your admissions process?

Application is annual; therefore, re-enrollment is necessary each year. All returning students are given the opportunity to hold a spot for the upcoming school year before general enrollment opens to the public.

All new students must complete our Online Application, placement exam, and family interview. Attending an Admissions Event is strongly encouraged. The Admissions Committee will consider all applicants who have complete Admissions Files by February 2nd for a March 1st decision, April 5th for a May 3rd decision, and on a case-by-case basis and timeline after April 5th.

What is the religious affiliation of the school?

We welcome students and families of other Christian traditions, other faiths, or of no faith, as long as they understand who we are and are willing to join us in a manner that is genuine, reflective, and respectful.

What do the Greek words on the school logo say?

The Greek phrase, ΕΠΙ ΤΑϒΤΗ ΤΗ ΠΕΤΡΑ (epi taute te petra), is a quote from Matthew 16:18. After Jesus asks some of His disciples who the people are saying He is, Simon (Peter) makes his own confession of Christ in verse 16 by saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” In verse 17, Jesus blesses him for this confession. Then He continues in verse 18 with a play on words for rock, “And I also say to you that you are Peter (Petros), and on this rock (petra) I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

This rock refers not to Peter per se, but to “the faith of his confession,” according to St. John Chrysostom. The true Rock is Christ Himself (1 Corinthians 10:4), and the Church is built on the faithful confession of Christ.
